The University of Maryland Terrapins are taking on the Georgetown University Hoyas this Friday at 8:00 PM in Herbert Wells Ice Rink.
Following a shootout loss against Delaware on November 23, a win this weekend should help the Terps to regain some lost ground. This first of two meetings against Georgetown, a team with a 4-5-1 season so far, should prove to be an exciting one, as the Hoyas are old division rivals and familiar foes.
“We used to play in the ACCHL league with Georgetown until last season so we know them well. Since they are right down the road from us it is one of our neighborhood rivalries and we have kept that tradition alive since we moved over to the MACH,” said Head Coach Krampf.
The Hoyas are coming off of a close 3-2 win over the Temple University Owls. Current point leader, averaging two points per game, Ryan Wainwright added two to his total during this last November game, and will be hungry to stay on top against the Terps.
The Terps are expecting an exciting matchup.
“We always have great games against them and I'd expect another on Friday night at The Herb,” said Krampf. “I've known their coach, Brad Card, since I started at Maryland four years ago and they are always well coached and prepared.”
As for the rest of the season, the Terps, now power ranked 10th in the Southeast, look to win their games and have some fun while doing it.
Coach Krampf noted, “Goals for the rest of the year? Win hockey games and have fun. We have been playing tight. We need to be loose, play hard, and win.”
